Writing Workshop with Aislinn Hunter

We are very proud to present The Measure: A Workshop on Writing Grief with Aislinn Hunter

Sunday, July 11, 2021 – 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Rockwood Lodge (Artspace – basement)
5511 Shorncliffe Avenue, Sechelt
Workshop fee: $30

Grief comes in so many forms. One can grieve the loss of a beloved person, a pet, or a stranger; one can grieve for the state of the world, or for oneself. Writing about grief can be difficult and writing grief-narrative might not readily seem to co-exist with writing joy (even though the joy often wants to get in there). In this 2 1/2 hour workshop, award-winning poet, novelist and educator Aislinn Hunter talks about the aspect of craft that make such narratives impactful and also about ways the writer can make the act of creating this sorrowful legacy emotionally safe and meaningful.

Aislinn Hunter is the author of eight books in multiple genres including, most recently, The Certainties, a finalist for the 2021 Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize. See https://www.aislinnhunter.com/ and follow her  on Twitter.
