Vancouver-based Shaena Lambert is the critically acclaimed author of four books of fiction. Her first book, the collection of stories, The Falling Woman, was shortlisted for the Danuta Gleed Award, while her debut novel, Radiance, was a finalist for both the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize and the Atwood Gibsons Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize. Her second collection of stories, Oh, My Darling, was a Globe and Mail and National Post top book of the year and won the CBC Bookie Award. Her latest novel, Petra, was inspired by the life of Petra Kelly, founder of the German Green Party and leader of the anti-nuclear movement of 1980s Europe. Part historical fiction, part biography, part murder mystery, Petra beautifully demonstrates Lambert’s tremendous skills as she weaves complicated real-life events with complex characters. It was a CBC Best Fiction of 2020 selection and won the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize.
