After 22 years as the founding director of the BC office of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, Seth Klein is now the Director of Strategy with the Climate Emergency Unit. His new book, A Good War: Mobilizing Canada for the Climate Emergency, contends that Canada should be fighting the climate crisis in the same way that we fought the Second World War: by quickly retooling our economy and pulling together across class, race and gender lines to defeat our common enemy. If we did it successfully then, he claims, we can do it again. He lays out a comprehensive plan of action including a greener economy with more sustainable industries that create jobs and unites us in a common cause. Called “a compelling call to arms” and a “powerful and important new book,” A Good War shows us how far we have to go, but how averting the climate crisis is well within our reach.
