Aislinn Hunter

Aislinn Hunter is a writer of remarkable skill with award-winning books in both poetry and fiction. Her first book of poetry, Into the Early Hours, won the Gerald Lampert Award, while her most recent, Linger, Still, won the 2018 Fred Cogswell Award for Excellence in Poetry. Quill & Quire said The Possible Past, which was shortlisted for the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize, “is cloaked in a sheen of wonder that never degenerates into cliché.” Her novel, Stay, was adapted for film and premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013 and The World Before Us, won the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize and was a New York Times Editor’s Choice selection.  The Certainties, published in 2020, has become a bestseller. Alternating the stories of two refugees in different times and places who cross paths for one brief moment, the novel was praised by the Vancouver Sun as a “sensitive, elegant novel.”
