Thank you for joining us at the 2019 Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts. We couldn’t be happier with the turnout and the feedback we’ve been receiving. Our heartfelt thanks go to the writers who traveled across the country to engage with, inspire, challenge, educate and entertain us. It was a very rich few days.
Our thanks go as well to our funding partners, sponsors, donors and the most magnificent group of volunteers a Festival could hope for. Thank you all for your support and dedication.
The contest winners have been notified. There were 828 entries this year for the 10 contests, an increase of 8% over 2018. Our Festival audience loves their contests! Many thanks to Maureen McBeath and her crew of volunteers for running these contests over the years. It’s a beloved tradition.
Here are the results of the ticket raffle:
The First Prize of a 2020 Festival pass was won by Ticket # 0603.
The Second Prize of a 2020 Festival day pass plus books was won by Ticket #0636.
The Third Prize of a Festival gift bag was won by Ticket #0981.
We will post the results of the Legacy of Literacy fundraising initiative to raise $15,000 at the Festival. Thanks to many of you, we surpassed that goal. We will let you know how we did once the bookkeeping is complete and we’ll let you know who the lucky winner of the Carol La Fave bear collage is once we’ve made the draw.
