She may have started life as a California girl, but for the past 45 years we’ve claimed Shari Ulrich as ours. She came here in the early 70s and quickly hooked up with Rick Scott and Joe Mock to form the legendary Pied Pumkin. Her talent as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist was apparent early on and over the years many other talented musicians have conspired to play with her. Roy Forbes and Bill Henderson joined her to form UHF; Valdy conscripted her for the Hometown Band; Barney Bentall, Tom Taylor and Shari still perform as BTU, and she is part of the bluegrass ensemble, The High Bar Gang. Two Juno Awards and countless accolades later she continues to record and tour both as a solo act and with Julia Graff, her multi-instrumentalist daughter, and Kirby Barber, a virtuosic bass and guitar player, both of whom will be joining her here.
